Tooth-colored fillings in Winter Park

A filling repairs a tooth with a cavity. Most take one visit of 30 to 60 minutes, and you can drive yourself home.

How we find a cavity

We look at each tooth, with X-rays if you need them, to find decay between the teeth. We show you the spot on the screen before we suggest a filling. A very small early spot can sometimes be watched instead.

The visit

A small dish of tooth colored filling paste, a cotton roll and a steel instrument on a dental chair arm.

We numb the tooth, remove the decay and fill the space with a tooth-colored resin in thin layers. A blue light hardens each layer. Then we shape the filling so your bite feels right.

After the filling

Your lip and cheek stay numb for a few hours. Wait until the numbness wears off before you eat, so you do not bite your cheek. Mild sensitivity to cold for a few days is common. Call us if your bite feels high.

Questions about fillings

Does insurance pay for fillings?

Many PPO plans pay part of a filling after your deductible. We check your plan and tell you the expected cost before we start.

Can my child's filling be done here?

Yes. Dr. Adeyemi does most children's fillings, as their own visit, with a parent in the room if the child wants.
